dc.description.abstract3G is short for third-generation technology. It is used in the context of mobile phone standards. A 3G service provides the ability to transfer simultaneously both voice data (a telephone call) and non-voice data (such as downloading information and exchanging email). 3G allows you to connect to the Internet without being near a wireless hotspot. It gives you self-contained internet and email access on your laptop, without the need for any specialized technical knowledge. Large email attachments can be downloaded quickly and easily, making mobile working a practical reality. You can even connect while on a train or in a car. In the other words the term covers: learning with portable technologies, where the focus is on the technology which could be in a fixed location, such as a classroom; learning across contexts, where the focus is on the mobility of the learner, interacting with portable or fixed technology; and learning in a mobile society, with a focus on how society and its institutions can accommodate and support the learning of an increasingly mobile population that is not satisfied with existing learning methodologies. Mobile technologies are convenient in the sense that it is accessible from virtually anywhere, which provides access to all the different learning materials available. It is also collaborative; sharing is almost instantaneous among everyone using the same content, which leads to the reception of instant feedback and tips. These also bring strong portability by replacing books and notes with small RAMs, filled with tailored learning contents. In addition, this kind of learning is engaging and fun. Therefore, it is simple to utilize mobile learning for a more effective and entertaining experience. Mobile technologies have provided unique opportunities for educators to deliver educational materials efficiently, and to support the cognitive and social process of student learning. Educational materials can be delivered to students through mobile devices. Students can communicate and interact with peer students and educators in real-time using mobile technology. Mobile technology can also be integrated into curriculum design to improve interactivity in the classroom. Applications of mobile technology in education can provide benefits to both students and educators. Mobile technology provides greater flexibility in student learning. This study contains research results on use of 3G mobile technologies in distance education at predetermined Universities. The research data are based on questions like survey that asked to students and instructors. After collecting of data, the effects of 3G Mobile learning on academic performance will be discussed.en_US
