The main objective of the present study was to investigate the application of Box- Behnken design which is a type of optimization design of response surface methodology (RSM) to predict and optimize some aging condition of magnesium silica aerogel (MSA) for improving surface properties such as surface area, pore volume, and pore size. Brunauer- Emmett-Teller (BET), Barrett-Joyner-Halenda (BJH), Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) coupled with Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) techniques, tap density method and helium pycnometer were used to characterize aerogels. The operating conditions were optimized as a function of the molar ratio of Mg:Si (0.35, 0.50, and 0.65), aging time (24 h, 60 h, and 96 h) and aging temperature (50 degrees C, 70 degrees C, and 90 degrees C). Lack of fit test indicates that the quadratic regression model was significant with the high coefficients of determination values for all three properties. Optimized aging factors for synthesis MSA with high BET surface area, high BJH pore volume and average Bill pore size were found to be 0.5 Mg:Si molar ratio, 79.62 degrees C, and 61.51 h, respectively. Under these conditions, magnesium silica aerogels have great properties: 734 m(2).g(-1) BET surface area, 0.41 cm(3).g(-1) BJH pore volume and 4.91 nm BJH pore size, 0.12 g.cm(-3) density and 95 % porosity. A Box-Behnken Method is a useful tool for the optimization of parameters of nanoporous magnesium silica aerogel production.

Örneklerde ortalama olarak toplam mezofilik aerop bakteri 8.39 log kob/g, Lactococcus sp. 6.34 log kob/g, Lactobacillus sp. 6.74 log kob/g, maya-küf 2.89 log kob/g, koliform grubu 3.94 log kob/g, E. coli 3.83 log kob/g, Staphylococcus sp. 2.65 log kob/g olarak tespit edilmiştir. In this study, the quality characteristics of Minci cheese (21 samples) were investigated by doing microbiological, chemical and sensory analyzes. In these samples, 8.39 log cfu/g total mesophilic aerobic bacteria, 6.34 log cfu/g Lactococcus sp., 6.74 log cfu/g Lactobacillus sp 2.89 log cfu/g yeast and mold, 3.94 log cfu/g coliform bacteria, 3.83 log cfu/g E. coli, 2.65 log cfu/g Staphylococcus sp. were determined on average. According to the average chemical results, 31.31% dry matter, 7.22% fat, 1.68% ash, 1.24 % titratable acidity, and 0.98 water activity (aw) were determined. L, a, b values were measured with color analysis device. Sensory evaluation was made in terms of appearance, taste, odour and flavor. Microbiological criteria for the production of safe food were stated in the Microbiological Criteria Regulation of Turkish Food Codex and Turkish Standards on milk and dairy products. However, to meet these criteria, the elimination of contamination sources of Minci, which is manufactured by different production techniques and is offered sale without packaging and thus is open to the risk of contamination, is needed with especially using heat treatment and appropriate packing material.

Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), which is one of the rheumatic diseases, is a systemic inflammatory disease characterized by chronic and erosive synovitis that involves peripheral joints. In patients who had been diagnosed with JIA, increasing proinflammatory cytokines, metabolic abnormalities associated with systemic inflammation, may provoke vascular endothelial damage which can cause atherosclerosis. Homocysteine is another metabolite among the factors causing endothelial dysfunction. Homocysteine is an intermediate metabolite which is formed during the conversion of methionine to cysteine and high levels of homocysteine in blood can lead to vascular damage. Dietary folate and vitamin B12 deficiency can cause an increase in blood homocysteine levels. Vitamin B12 is essential for the transfer of methyl group and cell division in humans, but it is also important for the proliferation, maturation and regeneration of the nerve cells. In addition, "functional vitamin B12 deficiency" in which blood vitamin B12 level is in the normal range and without severe clinical symptoms like anemia has also been reported. Studies have showed that vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to oxidative stress without causing significant increase in homocysteine levels by its effects on cytokines, growth factors, nitric oxide metabolism, antioxidant enzymes and producing reactive oxygen species.
